Saint Margaret Clitherow’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is first and foremost a family school, very proud of its strong Catholic ethos, standards and pastoral care, nurturing our young people as they continue on their faith journeys.

In April 2014 we became an Academy with our partner schools, St Peter’s Catholic College, St Gabriel’s and St Mary’s. This is a fantastic partnership that will allow Catholic education to continue in this area for many years to come.

Our Academy, named by the Bishop himself, is St Oswald’s Catholic Academy Trust. Each school keeps their own school name but we become one Academy and we are already working together to improve the opportunities we can offer the children in our care.

At St Margaret Clitherow’s School, we pride ourselves on being friendly and open to all. We love the boys and girls entrusted to us and take great pride in nurturing their academic, social and personal skills. Our teachers organise engaging and interesting lessons through a wide range of varied topics.

Being at SMC (our given nickname) and being part of our school family is a special place to be.

In our school we believe that ‘Jesus is at the heart of everything we do’.
